The Octagon Center for the Arts, established in 1966 as a community arts center, was originally housed in a 100-year-old octagonal-shaped building which gave the center its name. Since then, The Octagon has expanded to become a complete community arts center located in a historic four-story building at the corner of Douglas Avenue and Fifth Street in downtown Ames, IA.

University Museums at Iowa State University is a tripartite organization consisting of the Brunnier Art Museum, the Farm House Museum, and the Art on Campus Program. Together, these three institutions serve the public as educational and cultural resources and foster understanding and delight in the arts.
